Born & Grazed

Our family has raised Corriente cattle in Eastern Washington for four generations. We sell affordable, high-quality, grass-fed, corn-finished, antibiotic & hormone-free wholesale beef.

OUR MISSION:

We are proud to provide our community of the greater Spokane area with quality, naturally-lean Corriente beef. We believe in building relationships with our customers based on education, trust, and transparency. We believe in producing and eating meat that is sustainably & ethically raised and humanely harvested.

Motivated by family tradition, Amanda and Bailey took over the family ranch in 2020 as the sixth generation to raise cattle in Eastern Washington—the fourth generation to raise Corriente.

Together, with the help of their family, Amanda and Bailey raise affordable, high-quality, grass-fed, corn-finished, antibiotic & hormone-free premium beef. These two women have a passion for ranch life and the drive to forge their own path as entrepreneurs.

Sustainably raised.

Our cattle are grazed on grass pastures during the summer months, then fed hay grown by local farmers throughout the winter. Their small frames and un-picky appetites make them perfect for our arid, Eastern Washington climate. They coexist with and benefit our environment just as seamlessly as our existing natural wildlife.

Holding the belief that western traditions and skills of the past are still the best tools for today, Amanda and Bailey set out to make their dreams a reality.

Thus, COW Ranches was born.

COW actually stands for “Corrientes of Washington,” and is the brand passed down from Amanda’s parents. They wanted to build a family legacy with a memorable brand that catches the eye. Anywhere our cattle go, folks see the COW brand and everyone knows who they belong to.

The legacy of COW Ranches all goes back to grandpa. His passion for raising cattle came from his childhood and career in feedlot management across California, Montana, Idaho, and Washington. Together, he and his wife hatched their dream of operating a family-run beef ranch which they have passed down now to their daughter and granddaughter.

It’s his passion for Corriente genetics and selective breeding for a unique type that has built the foundations for the herd we have today. Grandpa still plays an active role in helping with the family ranch and is a trusted advisor to Amanda and Bailey.
